Bleach Technique Class

Tonight is my monthly Techniques Class-I had a request for bleach-I made four cards-The class will make just the one card and an image for their technique book.  They will be making the Certainly Celery Card with the Black scallop oval.  The image is stamped in basic black craft ink  and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The background is stamped with bleach.  I don't care much for using bleach personally-one because I always wreck something-my clothes the rug etc.., two because it is unpredictable-as you can see on the two certainly celery cards one bleached white and one a saffron color-the two pieces of paper most likely were from different runs.  After the bleach is good and dry you can color on the lightened area-it gives a cool effect it almost looks paper pieced to me.  the lightened area look a little glowie (if that's a real word)!  All the die cuts and embossing plates I used are Stampin' Up!  As well as the images, paper, markers, and accessories!

very pretty cards! they are sure to be a hit! I did find when I was teaching these classes that the bleach pen was pretty easy for everyone to use and kept the messes to a minimum. you might want to give that a test and see how you like working with it. but I love the result of the bleach technique! so dramatic! especially if you fill some of that in with a wee bit of glitter!

have fun tonight! :)

Your cards turned out great! I haven't tried the bleach technique because I'm scared of it! LOL

Great cards. My favorite is the third one. I loved the way you clipped on the sentiment.

Your cards do look great, I don't like using bleach either for the same reasons you listed! It's a good thing my craft area and laundry areas do not have carpet or I could never use it.

Sounds like a very fun class! I've never tried the bleach technique mainly because the smell of bleach makes me very sick!

Hope you are doing OK! Thinking of ya!
