Vintage Leaves Faux Watercolor technique

Pumpkin Pie, Early Espresso are featured on this the third Card from the August Sketch class.  Square Framelits dies were used to make the square frames and tone on tone pumpkin pie for the leaves.  Gold thread was knotted up behind the leaf accent.  The Leaf accent was made with Watercolor Paper.  The leaf stamp was colored with Stampin' Write markers directly on the stamp.  First in crushed curry then Pumpkin Pie and finally Espresso on the edges.  The stamp was then stamped on the Watercolor paper and the paper was sprayed with alcohol to bleed the ink into the paper.   The image was then cut out with it's matching framelit and sponged with Espresso ink.  Tombo multipurpose glue was the adhesive I used on all the elements on this card.

Everyday Chic meets Flower Fair for August Sketch Class

this post continues the same sketch I posted last.  For this card I chose to feature the Everyday Chic Designer Series Paper.  This black and white themed paper is fun because you can color it with ink and sponge to create black and what ever color you need.  For this card obviously I choose to leave it uncolored.  I added a pop of color with the Flower Patch Stamp Set and Framelit.  The blossom is Watermelon Wonder tone on tone and the stem is old olive.  The greeting was stamped in versamark and embossed with Whisper White Embossing powder.  A simple rhinestone gives this card just the right Everyday Chic look I was going for.  The embossing made the Basic Black paper a little wavy so I decided to adhere it to a Card Base I made from Whisper White Thick Cardstock.  This 100 pound cardstock is perfect for card bases.  I adhered the card front with Fast Fuse to ensure that any wave in the Basic Black panel was pulled nice and flat and held that way.

Made with Love Happy Happenings Card for Augaust Sketch Class

The first Thursday of the Month is Sketch Class.  I've posted our sketch above this post.  It doesn't show up quite right but I think you get the general idea.  I used two Stamp Sets that were new in the 2015-2016 annual Catalog.  The framelits we have had a while.  The punch is the new Washi Tape punch and is so much more fun then I expected.  a couple candy dots finish us off.

The idea for this card came completely from this sweet Designer paper with the clouds.  I saw it and thought where can I feature this paper.  I pulled the colors from the Sweet li'l Things Designer Series Paper.  Hello Honey and Tip Top Taupe.

Pretty Petals Blue Moon Convention Swap

So today I'm a little blue.  I'm at the beach but have a terrible cold.  Just miserable the last few days.  I haven't even left the house to go to the beach or enjoy the beautiful weather so I feel guilty on top of ill.  So what better day then to share my dark and moody convention swap.  I love this card.  I don't know why except it is so moody.  I can't put my finger on it.  I used new paper and framelits and a stamp set from last year.  I did use the square framelits for the black mat.  The mats can get off square cutting them on the trimmer but the dies get them right every time.  I did cut the designer paper with the trimmer as there would be not waste that way-the 6 x 6 paper stack cuts perfectly into these 3 x 3 panels.  If you got one of my swaps you may have had different ribbon as I didn't have enough very vanilla ribbon to do all the swaps.  All the supplies are listed below with links to my website if you'd like to make some moody cards of your own.
