Hostess Club in May was all about good byes and good buys. We did these projects featuring the Gold Soiree DSP that was on sale half price and we used discontinued 2013-2015 Inclolors and The retiring Tea Party Stamp set that I had such good intentions for when I bought it 2 years ago and had never used. Well we did these sweet projects. The first is a super simple easy card we used the distressing tool and the gold encore ink both on the retired list, this stamp set and die combo are still current though.
Our second project was the tea bag holder. I just made up my own dimensions for this project. I like to used dimensions that allow me to get the maximum number of projects with the least amount of cutting.
I needed 15 kits plus my sample, so I had to be frugal even though I had two packs of this paper. So for the sleeve paper inside I cut my paper to 6 x6, I scored at 3 inch mark turned 90° and scored at 2 3/4 inch in from each side. Then fold the 2 3/4 inch sides in and secure each end with a glue dot. fold over at the 3 inch score and that pieces is done. The Pistachio Pudding piece was done by scoring an 8 1/2 by 11 piece of card stock at 3 1/2, 3 3/4. 7 1/4 and 7 1/2 along the long edge of the paper on the Simply Scored tool. I then cut the paper 3 1/4 wide along the 8 1/2 inch side. I got two holders from each sheet of paper. The DSP panels were cut to 3 x 3 1/4 as was the inside panel of Whisper White.
I used the Thick Bakers Twine to tie the sleeve panel to the card stock base then I used on glue dot on each side to hold it in the center making sure that I folded the sleeve as I glued it so that the tension wasn't so great it would tear the paper when you closed the holder. The DSP panels and white panel are secured with Snail. the Tea Party oval images were each stamped on Crisp Cantaloupe then onto whisper white. The Cantaloupe images were cut with the oval framelits the White with Paper Snipes and glued down with 2 Way Glue Pen.
I used the envelope punch board to make the envelope it is a 6 x 6 sheet of dsp cut from the In-Color paper stack. following the instructions for a 3 1/2 x 3 1/2 inch envelope. I used a couple glue dots just to adhere the center points on the back of the envelope and I did this with the full tea bag holder inside the envelope so I could make the envelope accommodate the thickness of the tea bag holder.
I hope you will make your own tea bag holder and if you don't have your own Stampin' up! demonstrator that you will follow the links below to purchase any supplies for this project that you need.
