Blogger Group Challenge

The latest challenge was to make a red white and blue card-here she is!  Real Red, Brocade Blue and Whisper White.  the main image is from Sugar Nellie-These came to me by Royal Post...I had such a moment of weakness when I saw these-reminded me of my own scraggly-haired girls.  Colored with copics and sponged with Classic ink old olive and bliss blue.

Whiff of Joy 2

Here is the Second set of Whiff of Joy cards I did again colored with Copics-everything but the image of the girl is SU!  I sponged Classic ink around her to give a background of sky and earth.  my daughter loves these Whiff Stamps.  I feel like such a traitor.  ugh! the guilt.

Whiff of Joy

I have been dying to play with the meager 12 or so Copic Markers I bought at the art store-but I didn't have and good stamps to color so I finally broke down and ordered some non-Su stamps-and here are my first attemps-every thing except the image of the girl is SU! and she is colored with Copics-I only have a few random colors so I had to get inventive with my DSP-all in all I'm okay with how I did so far.

Secret Sister Challenge Card!

Challenge week three is to make a Birthday Card-Well I knew right away I wanted to use my new cupcake die cut set for the big shot!  I sent the cupcake base through the Big shot with an embossing plate and I think it looks super cute!  Close to cocoa and pink pirouette for the cupcake and Regal rose for the card base and candles.

SS Challenge week two-

Week two's challenge is to make a box or bag that you never made before-well I had this match box die sitting around for a couple months and hadn't touched it-I mad it from SU's new cover weight DSP-it's so great for this type project-I made this and went right on line and ordered more pattern's!    The flower is also cut from the same heavy weight paper and it curled beautifully with the bone folder and held it's shape!  The paper is chocolate chip and soft sage and the tag is a rub on-it says happy day!

Kristi's Challenge

My Blogging group has a regular challenge-this week was Kristi's turn to host-her challenge was to alter something-and make a holiday theme.  Since I need instant gratification I had to pick the next closest holiday and That was Memorial Day-will also be good for Independence day!  I altered 7 4x4 coasters covering them with real red and brocade blue DSP from some hostess packs I had left from last year, I cut the letters on my Cricut with the Mickey Mouse Font cartridge, the stars are from the Simon Upper Chipboard Letters from SU!  I inked them with Whisper White craft Ink and heat set Iridescent Ice embossing powder over the craft ink.  The blue ribbon is some old stuff from my scrap stash-non-SU!  and the striped gross-grain is SU!  I used the mat pack to help me place the holes and punched them with the crop-a-dile.  Everything is adhered with SU! glue stick except for the chipboard for that I used our Tombo multipurpose adhesive.  I drew in the little stitching lines with SU!'s white gel pen.

Secret Sister Challenge Card!

Here it is my Secret sister Challenge card for Designing DIVA's!  I wasn't going to bed till I figured it out!  Challenge was to use as many flowers as possible (I think that's what it said)  I've been so behind I've read about a hundred posts!  Anyway-I think it pretty cute.  Hope she likes it!

Bleach Technique Class

Tonight is my monthly Techniques Class-I had a request for bleach-I made four cards-The class will make just the one card and an image for their technique book.  They will be making the Certainly Celery Card with the Black scallop oval.  The image is stamped in basic black craft ink  and embossed with clear embossing powder.  The background is stamped with bleach.  I don't care much for using bleach personally-one because I always wreck something-my clothes the rug etc.., two because it is unpredictable-as you can see on the two certainly celery cards one bleached white and one a saffron color-the two pieces of paper most likely were from different runs.  After the bleach is good and dry you can color on the lightened area-it gives a cool effect it almost looks paper pieced to me.  the lightened area look a little glowie (if that's a real word)!  All the die cuts and embossing plates I used are Stampin' Up!  As well as the images, paper, markers, and accessories!
