November Hostess Club

For my November Hostess gathering I wanted my hostesses to know how much I appreciate them by making an extra special project.  I hope I succeeded.

We made two projects today I'm posting the first I'll post the second one tomorrow.

The First is a Center Step card.  You can find a myriad of dimensions for these cards, I chose to do one that would finish at the size of an A2 envelope. So our finished card is 5.5 x 4.25.  I used a diagram I found on google images.  I can't read the watermark but if you can and it's your diagram, Thank You!
These Sleigh Ride dies are just the sweetest little images and were amazingly easy to work with.  I expected there to be all kinds of issues with getting them cut out but they were fine.  I used my magnetic platform and wax paper between the the cardstock and the die and the images released just fine.  The precision plate seemed to me to be too much pressure and not using wax paper.... well a mistake.  The same with the Merry die cut.  The word Christmas was from a hostess set.   I know it seems like a ton of cutting but if you are doing one card it's not so bad you just cut 7/8 inch by 12 inch strips and then cut those to the right length.   Here is all the sizes I used:
-->
Designer Series Paper
1 -7/8 x 5 3/8
2 -7/8 x 4 1/8
1 -3 3/8 x 3 1/8
2 - 7/8 x 3 3/8
inside mat 3 x 5 ¼
inside neutral panel 2.75 x 5
I hope you like this project and will try one of your own,  I made three different renditions so I'll be posting the other two over the weekend.

On Stage Local in Baltimore

This past weekend was a local event hosted by Stampin Up!  This picture was from a leaders training the night before.  Such a nice time connecting with old friends and new ones.  These are the ladies I hung out with on the New Port Beach Incentive trip back in September.  Two of my down line attended with me and we all had a great time.  I'm so lucky to have such wonderful company to spend time with.  I came home and had to get immediately ready for Hostess Club Monday-I hope to get the pictures of the projects taken and get them posted just as soon as I can find my camera charger.

November Sketch Class Share

So for the November Class I borrowed a sketch from Connie and Mary-  I love this sketch and the cards I was able to make using it's inspiration.

Each of the 3 card use a slightly different technique to stamp the 4 little panels.  This first one I lined up the left panels touching and the right panels touching and stamped them individually.  The trickiest part of this project is making sure the two Artichoke leaves stamped on the card front are completely dry before you stamp the versa mark and emboss.

This card I butted all the panels against each other to stamps.
This last one I used two way glue pen to temporarily adhere to grid paper using the grid lines to make a 1/4 inch gap between the 4 panels then stamped the Monarch in black archival ink.

Thanks for stopping by-hope you like my cards and why don't you give this sketch a try with your Stamps Paper and Ink.

Cozy Christmas Share

Hello My Crafty Friends!  Wow has it been a crazy week at the Power House, Classes Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Saturday!! Well somewhere in there I managed to make this cute little card to share with you!  For the main image I stamped the cottage on Whisper White Card Stock in Mossy Meadow and again on a post-it note.  I cut away the sky line of the post-it note and placed the rest of the post-it over the cottage to mask it off so I could sponge in the sky.  I inked up soft sky on my sponge and did circles of ink coming off the post-it and it picked up some of the green from the post-it and made this soft graduated look.  The "snow" is simply the Two-way glue pen and Dazzling Diamonds glitter.  The Mossy Meadow panel is the new 3 way punch and the Metallic Doily is so nice for an assorted pack it is only $4.  Links to all these products are below so if you don't have a demonstrator and would like to buy from me I'd appreciate it!

Don't you just love this Sentiment.  All the stamps used in the project are from the cozy Christmas Stamp Set.

Blogging Friends Blog Hop-November Thanksgivning

Welcome to the first of the Month and the Blogging Friends Blog Hop for November!!!! Yeah- seriously cannot believe it is a month since the last Blog Hop.  Wow.

For my Blog Hop Share I wanted to do a 3-D and I wanted to make a Thanksgiving inspired project.  I had my Stamp Set that goes with the Wreath Kit sitting on my desk and I though-Feathers!  Yes I want to use feathers-alas these feathers don't have matching dies so..shhhh I used my Brother Scan n' Cut, I know not Stampin' Up! but heck we don't sell it so it's okay.  The feathers cut great and it was so much faster then using paper snips.

Do you love my acorn turkey?  Oh my he is so adorable he even made my husband use the word cute-he was like "Wow that's really cute, I like that it's a turkey, yet an acorn , yet a face... I'm not sure what that though process was but he was happy saying it so yeah it's cute.
Here is a side view the tags and the die for the word eat came in the Cutie Pie box set as did the scalloped edge.  The other word that comes in the box is ME.  ummm-yeah not going to say any more.

The ribbon tied around the box keeps the opening tight.  It is a clasping sort of die cut on the bottom.  There are a ton of dies in this set and super useful ones too.  The grateful comes from a different set though.  All the supplies will be below the link for the next blog on the hop.  The little googlie eyes are discontinued but if you don't have any in your stash I'm sure you can find somewhere to pick some up.

The only ink I used was Soft Suede and on the acorn I inked it stamped off and then inked just the top of the acorn then stamped it.  I cut that out with paper snips but I could have done with scan and cut or with the acorn punch.  I don't have the acorn punch but I might need it now... because these are so cute! I might make them for Thanksgiving favors!!!!

Thank You for visiting my blog today!  Please leave me a comment below and tell me what you think of my Turkey Acorn Face Box!  As my loquacious husband so described him.  Please travel on to the next blog and see what my Blogging Friends have made to share with you!  Oh and Have a Grateful Thanksgiving!
